Who is DA Group?
Our name stands for Deutscher Autokaufer, or “German car buyer”. We’re a couple brothers who love cars, especially older BMWs and Mercedes from the ‘70’s through the ‘90s. We use our extensive network of auto experts to locate and make available the finest examples of classic German automotive engineering, represented by special to very rare models.
All our cars have been extensively gone through to ensure the highest level of drivability and reliability from these wonderful older machines. Our sources are long-trusted mechanics who notify us about customer cars for sale, or fellow enthusiasts and collectors who help find those models we’re searching for. They undergo any needed restoration and repair so that your experience is turnkey – we make them great so you can hop in and enjoy!
Repair and Restoration
Besides mechanical repair/restoration to ensure great drivability, we can provide cosmetic enhancements as well – body work, exterior touch-up to full repainting, interior refreshing/restaining up to full interior replacement (seat coverings, headliner, door card linings, etc.) at reasonable costs. Our network includes specialists in all these areas, generally independent shops where the owners are hands-on and have more than 25 years’ experience in their specialties.
Location, Restoration, and Turn-Key Enjoyment
If you’re in the market for a special car, let us find it for you! Our service involves you as much or as little as you wish, to provide:
Initial discussion and agreement on the car you want. We can find a cool driver-quality car, up to an investment grade wonder-machine. We’ll take the time to understand what you want, how you’ll use it, what you want to spend, your timeline and budget, and any special considerations. Once we’re done, we’ll know just what to find.
We’ll go to work with our network to locate the best example(s) we can. Often we will have choices for you to evaluate within a week or two, depending on the plan we’ve agreed upon.
Any potential purchase will be thoroughly vetted by a master mechanic we know well and have worked with personally to identify current state of the vehicle, repairs needed, cosmetic updates suggested, and value for asking cost. We’ll provide a complete written report, if you like.
If we agree with you to proceed, we’ll negotiate the purchase of the car on your behalf.
If it’s turnkey, we’ll arrange delivery within the overall cost agreed. If it’s in need of repairs, we’ll start on the agreed course of doing so, which will have been discussed and built into the costs we bring to you during the inspection/negotiation stage.
When the car is delivered, you’ll have a much greater peace of mind that automotive experts have gone through your new vehicle thoroughly, done what’s needed, and you can enjoy driving with confidence.
